Gia Volski: Only member countries are invited to the NATO summit; claims that Georgia has been sidelined are propaganda - Partner countries will be in the Munich Security format, where the Foreign Minister has traveled

Only NATO member countries are invited to the NATO summit - statements that Georgia has been sidelined and not given attention are propaganda aimed at bringing people out into the streets, as if Georgia is detached from this important forum, - this was stated by the First Vice-Speaker of Parliament, Gia Volski, to journalists.

According to him, no non-member country has been invited to the NATO summit.

“An endless propaganda campaign was launched as soon as it became known that a NATO summit would be held in Istanbul [Ankara]. They say Georgia was not invited, but at this summit no non-member country has been invited. Previously, there was a format where, when a NATO summit was held, meetings were also held with partner countries. Now such an accompanying forum is not being held; instead, during the same period, the Munich Security Conference format is being held in Ankara, where the Foreign Minister has traveled and will make a speech tomorrow. As for the NATO summit, only NATO member countries are invited. Partner countries will be invited to the Munich Security Conference. It is propaganda that Georgia has been sidelined, not given attention, or that a deliberate punishment has been prescribed against Georgia. This is the propaganda with which they want to bring people out into the streets, as if Georgia is detached from this important forum, which not only does not correspond to the truth, but is information spread with malicious intent,” Volski stated.

For information, the NATO summit will be held on July 7-8 in Ankara, the capital of Turkey. Also, within the framework of the NATO summit, Turkey is hosting the program “Allies in Ankara.” The event is organized in cooperation with the Directorate of Communications, the Munich Security Conference (MSC), and the Foundation for Political, Economic and Social Research (SETA).
