Grigol Gegelia: We have witnessed yet another failure of the “losers” known as Georgian Dream at the OSCE - They keep wandering from one place to another, stumbling around aimlessly, but they have failed to achieve success anywhere or on any front

“We witnessed yet another failure of the ‘losers’ known as Georgian Dream at the OSCE. They wander around aimlessly from one place to another and have failed to achieve success on any front,” said Grigol Gegelia, one of the leaders of the Lelo–Strong Georgia party, commenting on the resolution on Georgia presented at the annual session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in The Hague. The main sponsor of the resolution is U.S. Congressman Joe Wilson.

According to Gegelia, no one is interested in what he described as “Georgian Dream’s delusions and paranoia,” which, he said, is demonstrated by the fact that “they return empty-handed everywhere they go.”

“This is exactly how they wandered around in Strasbourg, where they were shown the door and told: ‘This is not your place.’ That is the very chamber where Zurab Zhvania delivered his historic speech.

Now they are wandering around in The Hague. They have achieved no results there either. A ‘Dream’ member is a loser—wherever they go, they end up in failure. They went there demanding that the official records be replaced with Georgian Dream’s preferred wording, but they were sent away empty-handed. They roam around pretending they want normalization with Europe. In reality, they want to force their banal Georgian Dream narratives into the European Union’s normative texts. Of course, this ends—and always will end—in failure. Georgian Dream has hijacked the state and believes anyone cares about its absurdities. In reality, no one is interested in Georgian Dream’s delusions and paranoia.

The proof is that they come back empty-handed everywhere: they went to Hungary, where Magyar won the elections and their favorite, Orbán, lost; they went to Strasbourg and were expelled from the Council of Europe; they came to The Hague and had the resolution placed right before them. That is what a Georgian Dream loser looks like,” Grigol Gegelia said.

On July 8, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly is expected to adopt the Hague Declaration, which includes a resolution on Georgia. The resolution, titled “Safeguarding Electoral Integrity and Fundamental Freedoms in Georgia,” is sponsored by U.S. Congressman Joe Wilson.

The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly calls on the Georgian authorities to: Release all Georgian political prisoners identified by national and international human rights organizations; Repeal all legislation that restricts fundamental freedoms and is inconsistent with Georgia’s obligations under international human rights standards.
