The 12th Ministerial Meeting of the “Green Energy Corridor” will be held in Baku with the participation of high-ranking representatives of the governments of Georgia, Azerbaijan, Romania, and Hungary.

According to information released by the Ministry of Economy, Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvritivishvili, will take part in the event.

The participants of the Ministerial will discuss the technical-economic feasibility study of the “Green Energy Corridor” project, and will also develop a detailed action plan to determine the project’s future steps.

The Ministerial will be attended by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov, Hungary’s State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy and Energy András Tóth, and Romania’s Minister of Energy Cristian Bușoi.

The document envisages the creation of a new green energy route between the South Caucasus and Europe, which will contribute to the diversification of energy supply sources, the strengthening of energy security, and the increase of the region’s strategic importance.
