Another collapse of the Dream regime in the international arena - Instead of sorting out relations with the US, Dream today received another heavy blow from Congress, - Grigol Gegelia, Foreign Secretary of Lelo - Strong Georgia, stated when responding to the adoption of the US National Defense Authorization Act bill by the US House of Representatives, which also contains a note about Georgia.

According to Gegelia, the adoption of the act once again proves that American interests in Georgia, the Middle East, and strategic security are still in place and a priority, however, “it is regrettable that while Azerbaijan and Armenia are deepening their strategic relations with the United States, Georgia is now suspected of cooperating with anti-American dictatorships.”

“Congress has approved the National Defense Authorization Act, which includes a clear provision regarding Georgia, instructing the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of State, the Intelligence Community, and other institutions to submit a classified report no later than 180 days after the act’s enactment, addressing the activities of Russian and Chinese intelligence services in Georgia and the potential overlap of their influences, interests, and cooperation.

The act’s passage once again demonstrates that American interests in Georgia, the Middle East, and strategic security remain relevant and a priority.

However, it is unfortunate that while Azerbaijan and Armenia are deepening their strategic relations with the United States, Georgia is now suspected of cooperating with anti-American dictatorships.

In response, American lawmakers are now openly instructing the White House and the Pentagon to proactively to control Georgia, which in recent years has become a playground for the dark deeds of anti-Western forces.

The bill also instructs the US State Department to develop a five-year strategy for bilateral relations with Georgia, which will critically assess US funding and possible revisions to military, trade, and investment ties.

What does this mean? Instead of deepening relations, more trade, more military cooperation, today US lawmakers have instructed the executive branch to ask the following question: Should the US continue to invest in partnership with the Georgian government at all?

Under normal government conditions, today Georgia should be deepening its strategic relationship with the US, building Anaklia with the involvement of Armenia and Azerbaijan, enriching the Georgian people, and creating new opportunities for the development of our nation.

Instead, the Georgian Dream regime is a regime of lost opportunities, poverty, mass emigration, and lack of prospects, which has deprived a poor nation of all opportunities for development," Gegelia said.
