The Tbilisi City Court fully admitted the evidence presented by the prosecution and found Andria Liluashvili, a relative of Grigol Liluashvili, guilty of bribing the former head of the State Security Service, Grigol Liluashvili, assisting him in taking a bribe, and legalizing illegal income in a particularly large amount.
According to the Prosecutor's Office, the evidence examined during the trial confirmed that Andria Liluashvili was involved in the criminal activities of fraudulent call centers, the protection of which he provided through his relative, the head of the State Security Service, in exchange for which Grigol Liluashvili received solid benefits every month. In 2021-2022, in exchange for the protection of fraudulent call centers, Grigol Liluashvili received 1,365,000 USD in bribes through Andria Liluashvili.
“The court’s decision also established that, for the purpose of money laundering, Andria Liluashvili, both personally and through persons related to him, placed illegal income obtained from the activities of fraudulent call centers, as well as funds of unsubstantiated origin, in various bank accounts, invested in companies affiliated with him, and through multiple financial transactions, directed illegal income to purchase real estate and movable property in Georgia and abroad.
By the verdict of the Tbilisi City Court, Andria Liluashvili was found guilty of giving a bribe, assisting in taking a bribe, as well as legalizing illegal income in a particularly large amount, and the form and measure of punishment was determined as 12 years of imprisonment. He was deprived of the proceeds of crime, as well as the equivalent real estate and movable property, in particular: 70 units of real estate worth approximately 35 million GEL, 17 vehicles, 125 pieces of jewelry and paintings, as well as funds deposited in bank accounts," reads the information.
