The so-called court of occupied Donetsk has sentenced a Georgian citizen in absentia to 13 years and 6 months of imprisonment for fighting on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russian media reports.
The so-called Supreme Court of the Donetsk People’s Republic sentenced Georgian citizen Kakhaber Amiranashvili to serve his sentence in a strict-regime colony.
“In the spring of 2022, he went to Ukraine and joined the ‘Georgian National Legion.’ He also underwent military training, after which he participated in combat operations against the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation until July 2022,” Russian media writes.
An international search has been declared for Georgian citizen Kakhaber Amiranashvili.
