Another criminal charge has been filed against one of the leaders of Strong Georgia - Lelo, convicted Aleko Elisashvili.

As lawyer Giorgi Rekhviashvili stated in an interview with Interpressnews after leaving Rustavi Penitentiary No. 5, Elisashvili was charged with the word "scoundrel" - towards a police officer, Shota Chipashvili.

“This is the first part of Article 366 of the Criminal Code, which refers to insulting the court and which was expressed in insulting a participant in the proceedings. In this case, the witness insulted the police officer and called him a scoundrel. This is the police officer who inflicted very serious injuries on Aleko Elisashvili, especially when handcuffing him. He held him tightly for hours, Elisashvili was bleeding, he would not untie him, he would not give him water, and at the same time, he verbally abused him. When Elisashvili saw him at the court hearing, he called him a “scoundrel” and we asked him other questions as well. However, as the prosecutor's office says, this word expressed a criminal act.

Aleko himself laughed, he said that he has been sentenced to 13 years, this is the fourth case, he is laughing about this case. They are now trying to discredit Aleko with this, the Ali Babaev case, two terrorism cases, and now a fourth case has been added, as if, look, what a recidivist, what a criminal person he is. With this, they are trying to justify the decision to sentence him to 13 years. Now they have sought to justify this with additional criminal liability. Aleko was questioned in prison about these injuries 8 months ago, he provided all kinds of information to the investigation, but what did we get, a double standard. According to the rules and regulations, Shota Chipashvili should have been convicted of torture and abuse of authority, at least, but instead we see the indictment of Aleko Elisashvili, who called his torturer a scoundrel for the actions that he committed," Rekhviashvili said.
