The driver of the minibus who was injured as a result of the road traffic accident on Gomi Mountain is in Kobuleti clinic under the supervision of the escort service.

As the Ministry of Internal Affairs told Interpressnews, the driver has been detained, but at this stage it is not possible to transfer him to the isolator because the necessary medical procedures are being carried out in the clinic.

For information: late at night a minibus went off the road into a ravine on Gomi Mountain. According to available information, the Georgian driver managed to jump out of the vehicle.

As a result of the incident, 17 Belarusian tourists were injured, and four people died at the scene. Among the injured are six children.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched an investigation under Article 276, which concerns violation of traffic rules that resulted in the loss of human life.
