Employees of the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia detained one person on the fact of infringement of the secrecy of private life. The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia is disseminating information about this.

According to the agency, the accused was storing in a mobile phone photographs unlawfully obtained depicting the secrecy of the victim’s private life and unlawfully sent them to several persons.

“The investigation carried out by the Investigative Directorate of the Kakheti District Prosecutor’s Office established that the accused unlawfully obtained and was storing in a mobile phone photographs depicting the secrecy of the victim’s private life, which he unlawfully sent to several persons via a social network.

Employees of the Investigative Directorate of the Kakheti District Prosecutor’s Office detained the accused on 14 August of the current year. He is charged under part 1 of Article 157¹ of the Criminal Code of Georgia (unlawful obtaining, storage and dissemination of the secrecy of private life), which provides for deprivation of liberty for a term of up to 7 years as a form and measure of punishment.

The Prosecutor’s Office will apply to the court within the time limit established by law with a motion to use imprisonment as a measure of restraint against the accused,” - the information states.
