The court hearing of the minibus driver detained in the case of the death of 4 tourists as a result of the accident on Gomi Mountain will be held today at the Ozurgeti District Court. At today’s hearing the judge will consider the issue of the measure of restraint for the minibus driver.

For information: The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia charged one person with the fact of violation of the rules of transport traffic safety that occurred on the motor road of Gomi Mountain settlement in Ozurgeti Municipality, which resulted in the death of four people.

He was charged under part 8 of Article 276 of the Criminal Code (violation of the rules of motor vehicle traffic safety by the person who drives this vehicle, which resulted in the loss of life of more than two people), which provides for deprivation of liberty for a term of up to 10 years as a form and measure of punishment.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the driver did not have the corresponding category of driving licence.
