The Ozurgeti District Court has imposed pre-trial detention as a measure of restraint on the minibus driver detained in the case of the death of 4 foreign tourists as a result of the accident on Gomi Mountain.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia charged him under part 8 of Article 276 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (violation of the rules of motor vehicle traffic safety by the person who drives this vehicle, which resulted in the loss of life of more than two people), which provides for deprivation of liberty for a term of up to 10 years as a form and measure of punishment.

Also, according to the Prosecutor’s Office, the driver did not have the corresponding category of driving licence.
