A foreign citizen was arrested on charges of facilitating the illegal purchase, storage and sale of a large amount of narcotics.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, law enforcement officers in Batumi, as a result of a search of the defendant's personal and residential apartment, seized a particularly large amount of narcotics as evidence, including 50 packs of "methadone" packaged for sale.
“Officers of the Adjara Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested a foreign citizen on charges of facilitating the illegal purchase, storage and sale of a particularly large amount of narcotic drugs.
As a result of a search of the defendant’s personal and residential apartment in Batumi, law enforcement officers seized a particularly large amount of narcotics as evidence, including 50 packs of “methadone” packaged for sale.
The police also seized materials necessary for packaging the drugs.
The investigation is underway under Articles 260 and 260-4 of the Criminal Code, which provides for up to 20 years or life imprisonment,” reads the information.
