Kakha Kaladze: Representatives of the opposition will try to hinder the restoration of territorial integrity because they are rootless people - we will always take the steps necessary for the restoration of the country’s territorial integrity

There is a law on occupation. All steps taken by us take place within the framework of this law - we will do everything to restore the country’s territorial integrity and manage to coexist with the Abkhazians, - Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze stated regarding the supply of fuel to Abkhazia.

“All the steps taken by us are connected in general with the future. We always hear hostile and non-state messages from the opposition. Just recall during the election campaign - an address was made simply at the level of a statement, and what statements followed then. These people, through their actions, will do everything and will try to hinder the restoration of Georgia’s territorial integrity because they are rootless people. Georgia for them is simply a territory. They are controlled from outside and represent an agency; accordingly, whatever they are ordered, told and demanded, that is what they do. We will always take the steps necessary for the restoration of our country’s territorial integrity.

There is a law on occupation. All steps taken by us take place within the framework of this law. Relations between peoples are very important. We will do everything so that the country’s territorial integrity is restored and we manage to coexist with the Abkhazians. As for medical assistance, facilitation with fuel, or other important steps - we will always take such a step that will be important for our country,” Kaladze stated.

To the question “Is it simply a coincidence that the brother of Sakrebulo member Levan Arveladze is the businessman exporting fuel to Abkhazia?” Kaladze replies that “yes, it is a coincidence.”

“I do not have information regarding the specific company. I repeat once again: every step, every decision related to the mentioned issue takes place within the framework of the existing law. Business in the country today is absolutely free. What used to happen in this regard before 2012 - attacks on business, terror, seizures, the ruining of families - has been left in the past. Accordingly, the main thing is that the decisions of the business sector, their actions and the steps they take fit within the framework of the law. Absolutely everyone is free,” Kaladze stated.
