According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the police solved the fact of robbery that occurred in Tbilisi while the trail was still hot. One person has been detained.

According to the agency, employees of the Vake-Saburtalo Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department detained a person previously convicted on charges of robbery.

The investigation established that the accused, in one of the squares in Tbilisi, by demonstrating a cold weapon and with threats, unlawfully took possession of the mobile telephones belonging to two citizens of a foreign country and fled from the scene of the incident.

As a result of operational measures and investigative actions carried out by law enforcement officers, the person who committed the crime was detained while the trail was still hot. The police seized as material evidence the telephones unlawfully taken by the accused through criminal means.

The investigation is being conducted under Article 179 of the Criminal Code, which provides for imprisonment for a term of up to 12 years.
