Givi Mikanadze calls the circulating information according to which he is building a house on the site of a kindergarten in Guria “a lie” and “a disinformation campaign” and demands a public apology

The Minister of Education, Science and Youth, Givi Mikanadze, calls the circulating information according to which he is building a house on the site of a kindergarten in the village of Archeuli in Guria “a lie” and “a disinformation campaign.”

Mikanadze demands a public apology and states that otherwise those who spread the said information will have to answer before the law.

“This is yet another cheap and disinformation campaign. The specific persons who are deliberately spreading the said lie are, I will tell you directly, circulating falsehoods, and verifying this is very simple. The land that I purchased in full compliance with all established rules and the law was an empty plot and no building or structure stood there.

The area of the land purchased by me does not exceed 1,000 square metres. Its value was determined on the basis of the value established by the LEPL Levan Samkharauli National Bureau of Forensic Expertise.

That is precisely why I call on those people who are conducting a campaign of lies in connection with this issue to publicly apologise. Otherwise, they will have to answer before the law. I will tell you directly: I do not intend to ignore the circulation of the lies and accusations that have been deliberately carried out against me over the past two days. All of this will be given a legal form in the event that these people do not acknowledge that the information spread by them is a lie and do not publicly apologise.

I will explain once again that the construction project was prepared in full compliance with all applicable rules and was submitted to the Lanchkhuti Municipality City Hall. Only after the said project was approved did the construction works of the wooden cottage begin in my village. This is a very simple story – probably every Georgian person has the desire to have a family house in their native region.

Any interested person who has an interest in connection with the purchase of my property or the construction works carried out there can find out how the process proceeded and to what extent it was within the framework of the law. The said information is public and you can request it both from the Lanchkhuti Municipality City Hall and from the LEPL National Agency of State Property,” Givi Mikanadze stated while speaking with journalists.

The Ministry of Education, Science and Youth is circulating the minister’s position.

According to “Guria’s Moambe,” the Minister of Education, Science and Youth, Givi Mikanadze, is building a house on the former territory of a kindergarten in the village of Archeuli in Guria.
