Law enforcement officers arrested an Azerbaijani citizen who was wanted under an Interpol Red Notice.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs released the information.

“Officers of the Patrol Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested an Azerbaijani citizen who was wanted under an Interpol Red Notice.

The detainee was wanted at the request of Azerbaijani law enforcement authorities on charges of hooliganism and intentional damage to someone else’s property.

As a result of investigative measures, law enforcement officers arrested the wanted individual in the area of the Sarpi customs checkpoint.

Extradition procedures provided for by law are currently underway against the detainee,” the statement said.
