In Tbilisi City Court, the trial of Giorgi Malania - son of Merab Malania, former deputy minister of internal affairs - is ongoing in the case of the deceased teacher Giga Avaliani.

At today’s hearing, the prosecution’s evidence will be examined; specifically, the prosecutor’s office will present several witnesses.

For reference, Giorgi Malania is charged with assisting in the intentional infliction of severe bodily harm on Giga Avaliani as part of a group. He has been charged under Article 25 and Article 117, Part 3, subparagraph “l” of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
