Mikheil Kavelashvili awarded the Order of the Golden Fleece to China’s former ambassador to Georgia.

President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili awarded the Order of the Golden Fleece to Zhou Qian, former Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Georgia, for his personal contribution to deepening bilateral relations between Georgia and China and for his fruitful service. The information was released by the Administration of the President of Georgia.

According to the administration, as Zhou Qian was not in Georgia, the state award was received at the Presidential Palace by Tai Chun-yung, Chargé d’Affaires of the People’s Republic of China in Georgia.

“The President of Georgia highlighted the significant development of relations between Georgia and China during Zhou Qian’s diplomatic mission.

Mikheil Kavelashvili emphasized the importance of further deepening relations with the People’s Republic of China and expressed hope that the solid foundation established in recent years would continue to contribute to strengthening the partnership between the two countries,” the statement said.
