The Ministry of Internal Affairs has provided clarification regarding the expulsion procedure against Denis Kulanin.

According to a statement issued by the ministry, if Denis Kulanin does not voluntarily leave the country within the designated period, the expulsion order will be enforced involuntarily.

“The Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has been conducting expulsion proceedings against Denis Kulanin, a citizen of the Russian Federation, on the basis of subparagraph ‘z’ of paragraph 1 of Article 51 of the Law of Georgia on the Legal Status of Aliens and Stateless Persons.

“In accordance with paragraph 2 of Article 52 of the same law, the Migration Department applied to the Tbilisi City Court with a request for Denis Kulanin’s expulsion from Georgia. On September 4 of this year, the Administrative Cases Panel of the Tbilisi City Court issued an order concerning Denis Kulanin’s expulsion from Georgia.

“In accordance with paragraph 1 of Article 54 of the aforementioned law, the individual was granted a seven-day period to voluntarily leave the territory of Georgia in a direction of his choosing. If the individual does not leave the country voluntarily within the designated period, the expulsion order will be enforced involuntarily, in accordance with paragraph 1 of Article 57 of the law.

“Under the court order, the individual has also been prohibited from entering the country for a period of five years,” the statement said.
