If a Georgian man creates a battalion and starts an armed struggle on the side of those who occupy 20% of your homeland, for me that person is an outcast, Georgian Dream MP Tengiz Sharmanashvili stated, responding to reports that Georgia’s former Prosecutor General Otar Romanov-Partsakhaladze has formed a volunteer unit “Georgievsky” to fight on Russia’s side against Ukraine.

According to him, Otar Romanov-Partsakhaladze is a criminal against whom a search has been declared.

“State bodies have declared a search for him. If we detain him, he will be in a penitentiary institution for a very long time. That man is a criminal in my eyes, whom we are searching for.

Despite the fact that you have renounced citizenship, your homeland is still Georgia. If a Georgian man creates a battalion and starts an armed struggle on the side of those who occupy 20% of your homeland, for me that person is an outcast,” Sharmanashvili stated.

For reference, Georgia’s former Prosecutor General Otar Romanov-Partsakhaladze has formed a volunteer unit “Georgievsky” in Russia. According to Romanov-Partsakhaladze’s statement, the name of the unit is connected with the Treaty of Georgievsk, “which played a huge role in the history of the Georgian people.” Also, according to Partsakhaladze’s statement, he made the decision to fight on Russia’s side against Ukraine of his own free will.

“Today, when Russia is fighting against Western pressure to preserve its own identity, traditions, language and culture, I am ready to help the homeland in achieving all the goals set by the leader,” Partsakhaladze stated.
