Mariam Kvrivishvili, Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, held an introductory meeting with Courtney Austrian, the newly appointed Chargé d'Affaires of the United States in Georgia, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia reports.

The Minister congratulated the newly appointed Chargé d'Affaires on the commencement of her diplomatic mission in Georgia and wished her success in her future endeavors. At the meeting, the parties discussed priority areas of cooperation between Georgia and the USA, including prospects for the future development of relations in sectors such as bilateral trade, energy, transport and logistics, investment, and the strengthening of connectivity.

Attention was focused on the importance of the Middle Corridor for enhancing regional connectivity and on Georgia's readiness to handle increased cargo flows between Asia and Europe. The Georgian side elaborated on the government's strategic vision to develop its transport and logistics infrastructure, thereby boosting the country's competitiveness within the Middle Corridor. Emphasis was placed on projects such as the Anaklia deep-sea port, railway modernization, the East-West highway, the construction of the new Tbilisi airport, and the general development of the country's aviation infrastructure.

The parties also discussed the Black Sea submarine energy cable project and the development of the country's green energy sector.

It was emphasized that the Middle Corridor will remain one of the safest transit routes in the future,” the statement notes.

The meeting was attended by Deputies of the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Genadi Arveladze and Tamar Ioseliani.
