Singer Paata Burchuladze—who was convicted in connection with the October 4th case—has informed the Constitutional Court that he is ready to appear in person or participate remotely to provide testimony, should the "October 4th matter" be raised.
According to Paata Burchuladze, he is the one and only organizer of the October 4th event; no one else can provide the Court with accurate and complete information regarding "the reason why hundreds of thousands of citizens gathered in the center of Tbilisi."
"To the Constitutional Court of Georgia!
Respected Judges, I have been following the proceedings of your Court and have learned that opposition parties are being accused of organizing the gathering of October 4th—the 'National Assembly'—which is a falsehood. I, and I alone, am the organizer of the October 4th event. No one else can provide the Court with accurate or complete information regarding why hundreds of thousands of citizens gathered in the center of Tbilisi, what was put to a vote, and what the outcome was. To discuss—or even merely mention—the major gathering of October 4th without questioning me would be not only unjust but also unconscionable. In light of the above, I am prepared to appear in court in person or participate remotely to provide my testimony.
Thank you very much!
P.S. I request that the opposition parties file a motion on my behalf, asking that I be permitted to testify before the Court should the matter of the October 4th event arise," writes Burchuladze.
