Aleko Elisashvili says he was offered to get involved in formation of new political center in Georgia

Aleko Elisashvili, former independent candidate for Tbilisi mayor, says political expert Gia Khukhashvli has offered him to get involved in the launch of the third political center in the country. Elisashvili told InterPressNews that currently, he intends to found a civil organization, which will be presented after the second round of the elections.

“I and Khukhashvili have some kind of communication. His opinions and advice, including the creation of a new political force, are very interesting for me,” Aleko Elisashvili said.

According to him, during the consultations, they discussed two versions : the first one envisages turning the civil organization into political by 2020 and the second one – to set up a new, joint political organization.

“Everybody feels that the bipolar Georgian policy must end. Everybody feels that there is the need of setting up a powerful political organization. I told him [Gia Khukhashvili] that at this stage my main task is to form a civil organization and then see how events will develop. I do not exclude to launch a political organization with a strong team and to start active political activities, but at this stage I am staying in the civil sector, " Elisashvili said.

Political expert Gia Khukhashvili told InterPressNews a few days ago that a new, alternative political center would be set up in Georgia and he would promote this process.
