Coordinator of opposition claims so-called “Molotov cocktail” thrown at her house

Elmira Betsiashvili, coordinator of the “National Movement” in village Vejini of Gurjaani municipality, says that three “Molotov cocktails” were thrown at her house by unidentified persons. According to her, a car was damaged in the incident. Elmira Betsiashvili suggests the incident is connected with her political activities.

“This is directly related to my political activity because I am a supporter of the “National Movement” and the “Georgian Dream”-backed candidate lost [elections] in this district. We called police…I'm not scared. This is an attempt of intimidation by the Georgian Dream, "said Elmira Betsiashvili.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia says that an investigation is launched under Article 187 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, involving damaging or destroying another person's property.
