The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia hosted acting US Ambassador Ross Wilson today.

According to the website of the Patriarchate of Georgia, discussions focused on the relations between Georgia and the US and other important issues.

The Catholicos-Patriarch talked about the situation in our country and emphasized the necessity of peacefully getting back the occupied territories. He expressed gratitude for the US support for Georgia.

Ross Wilson noted that the role of Orthodox Church was significant in the life of Georgian people. The Ambassador expressed his firm position regarding Georgia's territorial integrity and said that the US would continue to support Georgia in this direction.

The presidential elections were also assessed at the meeting.

"The election period is difficult in Georgia, because we are emotional people. The defeated party has not yet recognized the victory of Salome Zurabishvili," said His Holiness.
