The Central Election Commission (CEC) will elect a new chairperson today. The commission meeting will be held at 2:00pm to hold a secret voting on the issue.
In case the Central Election Commission fails to elect the chairperson, the process will continue in the Parliament and the lawmakers will elect one out of three candidates, submitted for the post of the CEC chairperson, within 7 days.
President Salome Zurabishvili has presented the following three candidates for the post of the CEC chairperson, to the parliament: Mariam Shelegia, Tamar Zhvania and Vladimer Bozhadze.
