Dalia Grybauskaitė : Lithuania and Georgia are two brave states that love and value freedom

A state dinner in honor of Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili was held in Vilnius, Lithuania.

According to the Press Office of the President of Georgia, the Presidents of Georgia and Lithuania raised the toasts for the strength of friendship and special relations between the two countries. President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė gave the Georgian language toast for Georgia, expressing her respect for the people of Georgia.

The President of Georgia said that the occupied territories is the main challenge of Georgia. She said that in this regard, Lithuania is “our fellow-warrior in international organizations and we especially appreciate this.”

I want to mention that up to 30 municipalities and cities of Lithuania and Georgia are twinned. This scale of cooperation is really exemplary. I want to point out that one of my priorities is development of regions and I see a lot of potential in this relationship. I appreciate this sincere attitude, goodwill and great support, "Salome Zurabishvili said.

The President of Lithuania thanked the President of Georgia for her visit and noted that Lithuania and Georgia are two brave states that love and value freedom.

“Despite thousands of kilometers separating us, our peoples are very close. When we look at each other, we see a similar history, uniting us with the spirit of resistance to the occupants and the decision to preserve our culture and national identity, ” Dalia Grybauskaite noted.
