President pardons 19 prisoners

President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili has pardoned 19 prisoners, who will leave the penitentiary establishments today, Lasha Zhvania, Chief of the President’s Administration, said at a briefing on April 25.

“In connection with Easter holidays, within the discretion granted by the Constitution of Georgia, the President has pardoned 19 inmates, including 2 female prisoners. They will leave the penitentiary establishments today. The President has also pardoned 23 probationers, including two women. 21 probationers were fully released, while the probationary period was shorten for 3 convicts,” Lasha Zhvania said.
