Sulkhan Ghlonti has been appointed as a Deputy Minister of Finances and Economics of Adjara A.R. The minister, Jaba Phutkaradze, introduced his new deputy to the staff.

According to the Administration of the Government of Adjara, the minister emphasized the importance of the education and experience of Sulkhan Ghlonti The new deputy minister will be will be in charge of the tourism policy-related issues.

For the last 3 years, Sulkhan Ghlonti chaired the department of tourism and resorts of Adjara. During his management, the region was advertised at international high rated media platforms like BBC, CNN, Euronews, Deutsche Welle, and RTL.

Sulkhan Ghlonti's career is highlighted by the projects of “Tourism Development School" aimed to improve the tourism-related services, creation of the region's branding document as well the strategy of tourism development 2018-2025, most importantly, getting the award of the ‘’Europe’s Leading Emerging Tourism Destination 2019’’.

Sulkhan Ghlonti has graduated from Ivane Javakishvili State University and Tbilisi Theological Academy.

He is a professional public relations manager. He has undergone numerous trainings and courses in Europe and the USA.

In 2012-2016 he was the deputy of the Supreme Council of Adjara.
