Lasha Zhvania appointed as Georgia’s Ambassador to Israel

Lasha Zhvania, former Head of Administration of President, has been appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Israel, - the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia said.

According to MFA, Zhvania has a huge diplomatic experience.

"Since 1995, he has held various positions Georgian diplomatic service :

In 2004 he was the Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister;

In 2005-2008 – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Cyprus;

Earlier, he served as the third secretary at the Department of South and East Asia division of the Foreign Ministry; He has been the Third Secretary of the Africa, Australia and the Pacific Rim. Division and the Second Secretary of the CIS Countries Department of Multilateral Relations Division and the First Secretary of the Georgian Embassy to the State of Israel and later, he served as a consul,” the Ministry said.

As for Lasha Zhvania’s experience of working in state structures. From December 2018 to May 2019, he served as Head of Administration of the President of Georgia. In 2008-2009, he was the Minister of Economic Development of Georgia; In 2002-2003, he was Deputy Minister of Finance of Georgia; In 2002-2003, he was a member of the Anti-Corruption Council. In 2008 - Member of the Parliament of Georgia, Chairman of Foreign Relations Committee.

In 2009-2018, he was the founder of the consulting and investment management company Global Uni Group.

Since 2010 up to now, he is the Chief Manager of the Patriarch’s International Foundation for the Reconstruction and Development.

In 2004, he was assigned the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary
