High Council of Justice asks President to terminate authority of non-judge member Ana Dolidze

The High Council of Justice appeals to President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili to terminate the authority of non-judge member Ana Dolidze.

Dimitri Gvritishvili presented the appeal to the members of the council.

Gvritishvili names Ana Dolidze’s engagement in political activities as the legal basis for the appeal. He explains that it is incompatible with the status of a member of the High Council of Justice.

Dimitri Gvritishvili said Dolidze has repeatedly made political statements and calls, including demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia.

The letter sent to the President by members of the council says that "Ana Dolidze has systematically violated the ethics of the public servant and her actions are aimed not only at discrediting the judiciary but also damaging the important state institution - the President of Georgia, who appoints her to the position.”
