Zurab Abashidze: I checked the information and no opening of the Center of Russian Culture and Language is on the agenda

Opening of the Center of Russian Culture and Language in Georgia is not on the agenda, - Prime Minister's Special Representative for Relations with Russia Zurab Abashidze told reporters in the governmental administration.

He said that during the Abashidze-Karasin meeting in Prague, Karasin said that a similar center was planned to be opened in Georgia. According to him, he checked the information and it turns out that opening of the Center of Russian Culture and Language in Georgia is not on the agenda neither at the state-level nor by any private company.

“I declare with full responsibility that no state structure has anything to do with the establishment of such a center, nor has this issue been discussed at the governmental level”, Abashidze said.

Russian diplomat Grigory Karasin told Russian media a few days ago that the Center of Russian Language and Culture will be opend in Tbilisi in mid-December.
