President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili has attended the civil funeral of 15-year-old Luka Siradze, who attempted suicide and died in hospital.

The civil funeral is underway at St. Giorgi Church in Didube district of Tbilisi.

Luka Siradze, 15, who tried to commit suicide after alleged pressure from police officers during questioning, died on December 17 in Iashvili Children’s Central Hospital. Tbilisi City Court sent investigator Mariana Choloyan, charged with forcing the confession from the teen, to pretrial detention.
