Inter-Agency Coordination Council recommends abolition of crowded events in public places

The Inter-Agency Coordination Council led by the Prime Minister held another meeting. The Interagency Council meets intensively with the Head of Government to exchange information on the current situation and to take coordinated steps.

As InterPressNews was told by the Prime Minister's press office, the Interagency Coordination Council calls on Georgian citizens to refrain from traveling, especially in countries classified as high risk areas by the World Health Organization.

At the Interagency Council meeting, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Customs Department were instructed to put up up-to-date field tents at all border checkpoints and airports throughout Georgia, where passengers arriving from high-risk countries will be placed before being transferred to a special facility.

To prevent the spread of the new coronavirus, the Interagency Council recommended the abolition of crowded events in public places. The information has already been provided to local governments.

In addition, disinfection of schools and kindergartens, as well as of public transport, is in active phase throughout Georgia.

“The Interagency Coordination Council, led by the Prime Minister, will continue to hold sessions in a systematic manner, there are no grounds for panic in the country and the government fully manages the process”, the press service told IPN.
