Our embassies work under extraordinary regime in all countries across the world, including Italy, Iran and other high-risk countries. All embassies and consulates communicate with our citizens. An additional hotline has been activated in all the countries where the number of infected people keep growing. Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia Alexander Khvtisiashvili said on Saturday.

The Deputy Minister spoke about the work carried out to evacuate Georgian citizens from high-risk countries.

He said that an additional hotline has been set up in the Islamic Republic of Iran, through which Georgian citizens on the territory of Iran can contact the embassy and consulate. The Georgian government has already taken 30 Georgian citizens from the territory of Iran through the Republic of Azerbaijan.

“Of the 35-man list that we had in the beginning, five people refused to leave and decided to stay in Iran. We have more people who are in Iran. Some of them express their desire to stay in Iran and some of them want to return to Georgia. Accordingly, we are working in this direction. The same corridor is agreed with the Republic of Armenia and it is possible for us to bring our citizens to Georgia through the Republic of Armenia, ”Khvtisiashvili said.
