Irma Nadirashvili calls Talakvadze’s statement irresponsible, saying that diplomatic corps has already expressed its position

One of the leaders of European Georgia, Irma Nadirashvili has responded to the statement of Parliament Speaker Archil Talakvadze, who urged the facilitator ambassadors to publicly confirm that the authorities had not undertaken an obligation to apply to the president, prosecutor’s office or court to release Gigi Ugulava, Okruashvili and Rurua during talks with the opposition.

Nadirashvili called Archil Talakvadze’s statement irresponsible and a lie.

"The statement of the Speaker of the Parliament, as well as other members of the Georgian Dream, was a lie and irresponsible. He called on the ambassadors to voice the details of the talks. The diplomatic corps that participated in and led the talks has already expressed its position when Okruashvili was sentenced. The diplomatic corps, the EU ambassador, the US embassy have made statements that the above was a violation of the agreement. Consequently, their position is very clear.

We call on the Georgian Dream to fully abide by this agreement, to release political prisoners before the first reading of constitutional amendments. This would be right, this would contribute to the development of democratic processes in the country and it would help Bidzina Ivanishvili to leave the government through elections and move to the opposition. If this does not happen according to the agreement, before the first reading of constitutional amendments, it will be another lie by Ivanishvili and they will have to pay a high political price for this," Nadirashvili said.
