Tbilisi City Court has again left Giorgi Rurua in custody. At today's trial, the defense requested the court to release Rurua on bail of GEL 10 000. However, Judge Besik Bugianishvili did not grant the motion.

"Mr. Judge, I am an illegal prisoner, this is political justice towards me," Giorgi Rurua said at the hearing.

As for the position of the prosecutor's office, their demand was to leave Giorgi Rurua in custody. The prosecutor said there was a danger that Rurua would abscond and commit a new crime.

Giorgi Rurua was arrested on November 18 on charges of illegal purchase and possession of firearms.
