Saakashvili was once the leader of this country and therefore, his offer to become the leader of the country again is simply an offer of the past, - Gigi Ugulava, majoritarian candidate of European Georgia in Zugdidi, said in response to the statement of former President Mikheil Saakashvili.

Ugulava called Saakashvili's statement inadequate.

"Unfortunately, we saw an absolutely inadequate statement. Mr. Saakashvili showed his real desire, he offered himself as the leader of this country. This is our past. Saakashvili was once the leader of this country and therefore, his offer to become the leader of the country again is simply an offer of the past. Ivanishvili wants to maintain status quo, that is, the swamp where he drove the country, while Saakashvili offers us to return to the past. The country needs future and crucial changes. Therefore, it is very unfortunate, but the National Movement and the Georgian Dream often resemble each other in their desires," Gigi Ugulava said.
