A culture committee to be set up in Parliament

In parallel with the reorganization of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports and its formation into two agencies, the corresponding committee of the Parliament will be divided into two parts.

The draft amendments to the Rules of Procedure are ready for consideration. According to the draft amendment, Education, Science and Culture Committee will be separated from the culture. Accordingly, culture committee will be formed as a separate committee. The author of the draft amendments is Mamuka Mdinaradze, the chairman of the Georgian Dream faction, while the initiator of the project is the faction itself.

"In order to promote the interests of the representatives of culture as a highly important sector, to preserve the cultural heritage and the development of contemporary art, and at the same time, to enable the Parliament of Georgia to be more successful in defining the main policy directions and legislative activities, it is advisable to set up a separate culture committee", - explains the author of the project.
