Sergi Kapanadze, one of the leaders of European Georgia, believes that the facilitator ambassadors have "actually left the negotiating table" because, due to the Georgian Dream, the negotiations are halted.
As he said on PalitraNews, the opposition hopes that the talks can be resumed if the Georgian Dream uses common sense, but if it does not, the talks can be considered over, which will result in the formation of a one-party parliament.
At the same time, Sergi Kapanadze said that the opposition will continue to fight from the street, by using different strategies.
"The solution is not in a single strategy, but in a combination of strategies and different steps, and we are not going to limit ourselves to any strategy, for example, disobedience alone. Our strategy consists of several parts:
First, it is a fierce protest on the street, but this is not the only thing we plan. Often there is an expectation that there will be a street protest, which will change everything. No, it will not be so, but it will be an important component.
Second, it will be active contact with the public and people, in order to explain to them why the current status quo is problematic when the government has usurped power. The population understands this well, but we need to be more active and we are going to do this, including through direct meetings with the population, so that everyone understands this well”, Kapanadze said.
According to him, they will not use only the parliament and “unfortunately, our constitution is arranged in such a way that the winner takes everything, we have such a model. The presence of the opposition in the parliament has only one function - to use it as a tribune. We will be able to do this otherwise. We have not participated in the parliamentary life for three months, but the opposition voice has not been lost”.
