Irakli Gharibashvili on Lithuanian MP: We are a hospitable country, but insulting statements by such guests are completely unacceptable and mean nothing to me and my team

We are, of course, a hospitable country, but the insulting statements of such guests are completely unacceptable to us, this person's statements mean absolutely nothing to me personally and to my team, - Irakli Gharibashvili, the candidate for Prime Minister of Georgia, responded to the Chairman of the Lithuanian Foreign Affairs Committee, Žygimantas Pavilionis.

Speaking at a sitting of the Georgian Dream faction, Gharibashvili said that the statements made by the Lithuanian MP were unacceptable to a sovereign dignified country, and called on the Žygimantas Pavilionis and the "destructive opposition" to stop making such statements as soon as possible.

"Of course, such statements by the representative, associated with the "National Movement", the chairman of one of the committees of the parliament of a friendly country, particularly distinguished friend, are totally unacceptable and concerning. I would like to emphasize once again that this is totally unacceptable for a sovereign dignified country and I call on this man and his, so to speak, friends from our destructive opposition to put an end to such unacceptable statements as soon as possible. We are, of course, a hospitable country, but the insulting statements of such guests are totally unacceptable to us and mean absolutely nothing to me personally and to my team, to our government. I would like to remind this person and everyone that our team is elected by our people, our people have supported us and expressed their confidence to continue to run our country. Therefore, no one has the right to call us with incomprehensible and unjust statements", - Irakli Gharibashvili said.

For the record, Žygimantas Pavilionis, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Lithuanian Parliament, the sides should unite in Georgia before it is too late. According to the Lithuanian MP, if the repressions and conflict continue, then Georgia's chances will simply be destroyed, because only the best will join the EU and NATO. According to him, Georgia has a choice, either to go with Lithuanian way, or turn into Belarus.
