Gigi Ugulava: The responsibility of the government may not be equalized with the opposition, the government always has the biggest share of responsibility

According to one of the leaders of European Georgia, Gigi Ugulava, some kind of agreement must be reached between the government and the opposition in any case and it will happen soon. As he said on PalitraNews, the above is mainly the responsibility of the government.

"Danielsson stays here until an agreement is reached, while Carl Hartzell went to Brussels together with Gharibashvili. Understandably, it is the Prime Minister's visit, the ambassador should go, but it looks comical when the Georgian Dream is trying to make a big deal of the fact that they went together.

At this moment, the most promising fact for the country is that the man who had been planning to leave the day before yesterday remains here until we have no agreement. At the same time, we know that Gharibashvili will have to talk to Charles Michel again and other high-ranking EU officials. The topic of conversation, obviously, will be overcoming the political crisis. These two processes give us hope and naturally Danielsson’s decision to stay is Charles Michel's decision, because he understands well, he has personally undertaken a political commitment to overcome this crisis. The EU is very cautious about all this, because the visit to Russia was not very successful, where the Russian official behaved rudely. It was not a successful visit, so the second unsuccessful mission in the region will simply be very difficult, so it is very important for him to reach an agreement. One thing we can say is that there will necessarily be some kind of agreement and it will happen soon," Gigi Ugulava said.

As for the partners' call that steps should be taken by both sides to get the country out of the crisis, Ugulava said that "calling on two sides does not mean equalizing the responsibilities of these two sides."

"The responsibility of the government may not be equalized with the opposition. The government always has the biggest share of responsibility, 90%, and we are not talking only about the Georgian Dream, it is the same about any government," Ugulava said.
