Salome Zourabichvili: Poland will become the OSCE chair country next year and it is ready to provide all possible assistance to bring the issue of occupation to the forefront of OSCE political agenda and statements

President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili spoke at a joint press conference after the meeting with her Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda and expressed hope that the partnership between Georgia and Poland will be further strengthened in the future.

As she noted, Poland is ready to provide all possible assistance to Georgia to bring the issue of occupation to the forefront in the OSCE format next year.

"As for our bilateral relations between Georgia and Poland, we have done a lot in the past, but it is necessary to deepen our economic relations after this pandemic, our trade turnover, tourism should become one of the leading forces. I would like to announce today that as the summer season opens, we have removed virtually all the regulations that apply to our Polish friends and tourists. Georgia will be open to all vaccinated people, this is our open door policy towards Europe and in particular, Poland.

In addition, I heard a promise of the President of Poland that everything will be done for a verbal agreement on vaccines. Poland is trying to supply Georgia with the quantity that was previously negotiated. This will be a very important gesture of solidarity for our people. Another issue is that Poland will become the OSCE chair country next year and it is ready to provide all possible assistance to bring the issue of occupation to the forefront of OSCE political agenda and statements.

I want to say once again that we have great hopes for the future, because we have very old, very strong friends and partners in the European Union," Zourabichvili said.
