William Courtney: Political setbacks suggest Georgia is veering off westward path, losing democratic momentum

Former US Ambassador to Georgia William Courtney responds to the recent developments in the country and points out that Georgia is turning away from the road to the West.

"Political setbacks - refusal of some to take parliamentary seats, persistent election flaws, snubbing of EU-brokered compromise - suggest Georgia is veering off westward path & losing democratic momentum. Perhaps intervention by civil society & new elections could ease tensions", - wrote Courtney on Twitter.
