Georgia's third president, Mikheil Saakashvili, is ending cooperating with the med council and will refuse to get hunger strike-related treatment.

This is stated in his address, which his lawyer Giorgi Gelkhauri introduced to the journalists after leaving the #12 penitentiary institution.

"As you know, I was cooperating with the medical council appointed by the government, with the sole purpose of maintaining a minimum capacity for work and thinking ability until election day. I am ending this cooperation today. I am grateful to the members of the council and it is unfortunate that the government has not taken into account their main recommendation. After today, I will no longer receive hunger relief treatment and I will no longer undergo tests.

I came to Georgia because I thought that our country was finally moving towards totalitarianism and Georgians were leaving it. In this election, we must try to stop it and take a step towards return. In the first round, the opposition really achieved serious success and won the second round in all the big cities, and even won the first place in a few. Then we witnessed a very positive process, the unification of completely different opposition forces. Tomorrow is the second round and it is crucial for Georgian democracy, for our future and for my life. I want you to know that the continuation of my life is entirely tied to your decision tomorrow and the victory of Georgia. Today my hunger continues in full force, but I have hope for each of you and i.e. hope for tomorrow's win.

Please, at the end of the day and tomorrow morning, call all the relatives who did not intend to go to the polls and take them with you. Every person’s participation is extremely important. Also, I would like to ask you to gather again tomorrow evening at the polling stations to protect the votes. Ivanishvili wants to finally break us and subdue us, now the fate of Georgia and my fate is in your hands.

I deeply believe in victory and along with it in reconciliation and unification of society; healing the wounds and the joint advancement and success of people of different views. May God be our protector", - Saakashvili said in his address.
