I am sorry that our society has been more busy lately with narrow political rallies and retaliation than what it befits more - whether it is the development of a post-conflict situation between neighbors or the situation on the Ukrainian border, said Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili.

According to the President, peace in Georgia and the region is inseparable.

"I would like to respond to the alarming situation on the border with our friend and member of the EU Associate Trio and reaffirm our full support and commitment to Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity; I would like to express my solidarity with the Ukrainian people, with whom we have historical friendship and the path to overcoming the Soviet past, building a new modern state and European integration after the restoration of independence. I believe that Ukraine will withstand the existing tensions and threats and no one and nothing can change its chosen path. I also believe that there is no alternative to peace talks and that achieving peace and stability is in everyone's interest.
