"Even though Ukraine was the main topic at the Munich Security Conference, our presence and our voice were extremely important for both our Ukrainian colleagues and the international community," Foreign Minister Davit Zalkaliani told reporters in Munich.
According to him, Georgia has experienced Russian occupation, which is still going on.
"Although Ukraine was the main topic, our presence and our voice were extremely important, both for our Ukrainian colleagues and for the international community, because this challenge is not strange to us. We have experienced occupation of our own land that is still going on. It was important for our international partners to share these experiences, to talk and find ways for solving this problem from our perspective. Therefore, all bilateral meetings, involving both the Prime Minister and me, were devoted to this topic. In addition, the Prime Minister had many meetings in the economic direction. As you know, the economic dimension is very important. Representatives of many large companies are here and the Prime Minister held meetings with them. We see that the development of the country and increasing its attractiveness are one of the important levers to minimize external threats and we showed the attractiveness of the country as a successful function to the international partners," - said Davit Zalkaliani.
