So-called Luhansk people's republic recognizes independence of occupied Abkhazia

The so-called Luhansk people's republic recognized the independence of occupied Abkhazia. The decree has been signed by Leonid Pasechnik, the de facto leader of the Luhansk people's republic.

"I recognize the republic of Abkhazia as a sovereign and independent state. The ministry of foreign affairs of the Luhansk people's republic will hold talks to establish diplomatic relations with the Abkhaz side," reads the so-called decree.

According to Pasechnik, they have a long and close friendship with occupied Abkhazia.

"Citizens of the republic of Abkhazia, as well as the people of Donbas, know how difficult it is to protect a homeland from invaders, to protect truth and justice. During the difficult, tense time for our republic, Abkhazia, after Russia, was one of the first to respond to the desire for freedom of the people of our state. It recognized the sovereignty and independence of the Luhansk people's republic," Pasechnik said.

At the same time, according to reports, "diplomatic relations" have already been established between occupied Abkhazia and the self-proclaimed Luhansk people's republic.
