Sergo Chikhladze: If Papuashvili and other leaders of the Georgian Dream do not see the new geopolitical reality and opportunities, it indicates their ignorance

Shalva Papuashvili is demagogic, no one from the opposition has talked about the return of territories by military means, Sergo Chikhladze, a member of the Strategy Builder, told journalists when responding to Shalva Papuashvili's statement.

According to him, if Papuashvili and other leaders of the Georgian Dream do not see the new geopolitical reality and opportunities, it indicates their ignorance.

"Mr. Shalva is demagogic, no one from the opposition has talked about the return of territories by military means. We are working with our partners to find peaceful ways, unlike the Georgian Dream. As for the fact that a new geopolitical situation has been created in the world and a window of new opportunities has emerged for Georgia in relation to NATO and the European Union, we all agree on that. If Papuashvili and other leaders of the Georgian Dream do not see the geopolitical opportunities, it is very unfortunate and indicates their ignorance," Chikhladze said.

He also responded to Shalva Papuashvili's statement that Zelensky addresses the Parliaments of the countries and organizations from which he expects decisive assistance and that his speech in the Georgian Parliament is not on the agenda.

According to Chikhladze, Papuashvili’s rhetoric is damaging for the country.

"If I were him, I would be silent. As for the expectation of the West, it is that we must show unity. Our representatives are in Brussels and there was an expectation that the Government and the opposition would be together in the delegations. Unfortunately, we all know their answer to this," Chikhladze said.

According to the Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, there is no realistic reason to say that the ongoing processes in Ukraine open new opportunities for the de-occupation of the occupied territories of Georgia. As Shalva Papuashvili stated on PalitraNews, the activation of issues related to Georgia while the war in Ukraine continues, is an unscrupulous attitude.
