Russian Media: Russia launches criminal case against Mamuka Mamulashvili, Commander of the Georgian Legion in Ukraine

A criminal case has been launched in Russia against Mamuka Mamulashvili, the Commander of the Georgian Legion in Ukraine. He is accused of establishing an armed formation, recruiting mercenaries, participating in an armed conflict and other crimes, Russian media reports.

"Mamuka Mamulashvili, a citizen of Georgia, established an armed formation on the territory of Ukraine, which he heads. There are 24 citizens of Georgia with him. Until now, they are taking part in hostilities on the territory of Ukraine against the representatives of the Luhansk and Donetsk people's republics, as well as the Russian Armed Forces," the indictment reads.

The investigative agency said that Mamulashvili in his last interview made a call for killing Russian servicemen who are taking part in the war in Ukraine.

According to them, the investigation has identified all the members of the Georgian Legion who will be handed over to the court.

For information, the head of the Russian Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin demanded that Mamuka Mamulashvili, the Commander of the Georgian Legion in Ukraine, be brought to justice. The agency believes that the Georgian Legion's fighters committed crimes against Russian military servicemen.
